Building A Bridge During A Pandemic
When Sue Brown, volunteer for Backpacks For Life heard that New Jersey Veterans Network was in need of a wheelchair she turned to her trusty friends from The Lions of Aberdeen, MD. She immediately contacted Mark Schlottman who just happened to have one in a storage unit. Sometimes it takes the middle man (or woman in this case!) to build the bridge. One nonprofit helping another nonprofit to help another. This pandemic can’t slow or stop us. We often say that Teamwork makes the Dreamwork but when it actually gets done, it’s really something amazing! This wheelchair enjoyed the ride from Aberdeen, MD to Neptune, NJ where Sue met up with Mike’s friend David Keizer to get the job done. Thank you, Aberdeen Lions Club for helping our friends at New Jersey Veterans Network. With all combined efforts we’re able to make a difference in a veteran’s life.
Boy, that wheelchair already has a lot of miles on it, and it’s not even used yet!
